50/50 Draw
This weeks draw for Swinford GAA 50/50 draw was held in Heaneys on 28th July and Kevin McDonagh of Cashel, Midfield won €720. Envelopes are available in most business premises and online through www.swinfordgaa.ie where tickets can be purchased in bundles of 10/25/52 weeks. Next draw in Whitehouse on 4th August. Draw envelopes are now also available at 3 for €5.

Ticketing arrangements will be announced on Saturday evening and will be on our Facebook page and website swinfordgaa.ie. Ticket orders must be with the club secretary by 8pm Monday 3rd August.

East Mayo Junior Championship

We enjoyed a very good win at home to Ballaghadereen in round 2 of the championship on Tuesday 28th July on a scoreline of 3-8 to 0-4.

On Sunday 12th we suffered a defeat away to Hollymount-Carramore by 2-10 to 1-5. Halfway through the season we are sitting mid table but still with a good chance of pushing for promotion.

Phil Coulter to play Swinford Church – Friday July 31st
The world renowned Composer, Producer and Performer Phil Coulter will play Swinford Church this August Bank Holiday weekend.
He will be accompanied by special guest vocalist Geraldine Brannigan in what promises to be a very entertaining night.
He is  performing as part of the ‘Siamsa Seipeil’ festival and follows in the footsteps of Paul Brady, Sharon Shannon and Frankie Gavin.
Swinford Church is a wonderful venue and this is a wonderful opportunity for the true music fan.

Division 1C Swinford v The Neale
We got our season back on track with a win at home to The Neale by 2-13 to 1-11. Goals in either half by Barry Brenann and Jack McDonnell and some fine points from Stephen Henry saw us take the 2 league points. Junior Championship Louisburgh v Swinford
We made the trip to Louisburgh on Saturday evening for round 1 of the junior championship and the gulf between the teams showed as the home team won by 2-11 to 0-8. A young team put in a good display against one of the favourites for the junior championship. Scorers: McDonagh 0-4, Paddy Ward, Darren Campbell, Sean Brady, Gerry Callaghan 0-1 each.
