Swinford Souvenir Programme Launched

A big crowd turned out for the launch of the Swinford GAA Souvenir Programme in the Gateway Hotel, on Friday night.

Launch of Souvenir Programme

Speakers on the night were John Moran, Marty Roughneen, Bernard O’Hara, John McCallion and David Heany.

Marty Roughneen was the man responsible for orchestrating this publication, however as he pointed out, he would not have been able to do it without the help of the booklets contributors. Special mention was made for Rita Campbell for sourcing pictures and Bernard O’Hara who helped with the editorship of the booklet.

Bernard O’Hara gave an eloquent talk on the history of the club and enlightened the crowd on the significant football prowess of Swinford great, Dr PΓ‘draig Carney.

John McCallion spoke on behalf of the McCallion family and David Heany spoke about his memories of playing with Robert and complimented the organisation that has gone into the pitch reopening by club members.

The Souvenir programme/booklet can be bought in local Swinford Shops for €10 or online, where an additional €2 charged for postage to any Irish address, and €5 to any international address.
